The Bureaucrat in Your Shower

From the Ludwig Von Mises Institute:

The Department of Energy may soon be paying a visit to a certain shower-head manufacturer in Arizona. The company is Zoe Industries Manufacturing. It runs Showerbuddy.com, a popular site that sells amazing equipment for bathrooms.

Consumers love the company but one man doesn’t. He is Al Deitemann, head of conservation for the Seattle Water Board. Al ordered some products and sent them to BR Laboratories in Hungtington, California, according to the Seattle Post-Intelligencer. And sure enough, Bureaucrat Al gained enough data to report Zoe to the feds, accusing Zoe of “blatant violations of environmental protection laws.” Now the heat is on.

What’s the big deal? What critical matter of American public life is at stake? It’s all about water flow and gallons per minute.

Liberals Like to make people suffer

Many Libs like Ralph Nader like to cause suffering. They say they don’t. They say they just “helping people.” They say they are just acting in “the public’s best interest.” But because they don’t think about consequences of their actions, they frequently cause people to needlessly suffer.

Here’s a good example–Ralph Nader’s group, Public Citizen has worked to get the drug Cylert taken off the market because it has been implicated in some people’s liver problems. The problem with Public Citizen’s scheme is that some people rely on Cylert to function. But why should a side issue like that stop Public Citizen from continuing with their plan? Don’t these people know that Public Citizen is just trying to help? Don’t the Cylert users know what is good for them? Ralph Nader and Public Citizen do.
