The map below is from Maps of War. It shows who has controlled the middle east since 3000 BC.
By the way, I can’t resist a poking fun at people who are afraid to mention Jesus Christ. Note that when the presentation plays, it doesn’t say “3000 B.C.” but rather “3000 B.C.E.” What’s so scary about Jesus Christ? Why do some people feel the need to substitute the lame and unnecessary “Before Common Era.” Wikipedia says, “The term common era is preferred by some as a religiously-neutral alternative.” Um, not it is not “religiously-neutral.” The dating still refers to Jesus Christ even if it doesn’t mention his name specifically. So why are people afraid of mentioning his name? Does it offend Jews, Muslims, or Hindus to refer to Christ with a dating scheme? Of course not. B.C.E. is a silly convention.

I would love to hear this ad. This is funny stuff.
By the way, why am I not surprised that some people can’t take a joke.
Ambassador Bolton had a good quote concerning the nutbag Chavez:
UN Amb. John Bolton was nonplussed by it all:“The real issue here is he knows he can exercise freedom of speech on that podium, and as I say, he could exercise it in Central Park, too,” Bolton said. “How about giving the same freedom to the people of Venezuela?”
