Why is today’s climate optimal?
Posted: February 18th, 2007 | Author: admin | Filed under: Uncategorized | Comments OffOne of the strange claims I see made by environmentalists is that if the Earth warms more, it will be “sadder and less flourishing.” Obviously people use different words, but it is always the same–any warming will make the world a worse place.
A warmer earth will be different, but why does necessarily mean it will be worse? Is the Earth “sadder and less flourishing” than when dinosaurs roamed the land and the earth was warmer? Is the earth “happier and more flourishing” in the ice ages when glaciers covered 80 percent of Canada? This is such silly rhetoric.

Another Day, Another Innocent Killed by SWAT Team
Posted: February 16th, 2007 | Author: admin | Filed under: Uncategorized | Comments Off
I’m not a fan of using SWAT teams to carry out routine search warrants. They have some uses, but they should not be used to carry out routine search warrants. They are just too dangerous. Besides recently killing a 90 year old grandmother in Georgia, chalk up another needless death of an innocent 17 year old in Texas. The Houston Chronicle reports:
A 17-year-old Wharton resident was shot and killed today by a police officer executing a search warrant for narcotics at a home.Daniel J. Castillo died about 1:30 p.m. at John Sealy Hospital, according to Becky Ivy, a spokeswoman for the Wharton County District Attorney’s office.
The shooting happened at 9:30 a.m., as members of the Wharton County District Attorney Narcotics Task Force, Wharton Police Department Emergency Response Team, and the Wharton County Sheriff’s Office Star Team assisted in the execution of the warrant.
The police stormed into Daniel Castillo’s house and then shot him dead. His crime? Bad luck. The police didn’t find any drugs in the house. Yes, you read that correctly, there weren’t any drugs in the house.
Does BBC News Carry the News?

The Truth About the Crusades
Posted: February 11th, 2007 | Author: admin | Filed under: Uncategorized | Comments OffWho knows if this is the truth about the crusades, but it is an interesting take:
Christians in the eleventh century were not paranoid fanatics. Muslims really were gunning for them. While Muslims can be peaceful, Islam was born in war and grew the same way. From the time of Mohammed, the means of Muslim expansion was always the sword. Muslim thought divides the world into two spheres, the Abode of Islam and the Abode of War. Christianity
I Might Have To Take Back What I’ve Written about Pelosi
Posted: February 9th, 2007 | Author: admin | Filed under: Uncategorized | Comments OffAccording to this Bloomberg story:
ouse Speaker Nancy Pelosi said she might decline the use of Air Force planes to travel from Washington to her San Francisco district because the Pentagon won’t guarantee her an aircraft that can make the trip non-stop.“I have said that I am happy to ride commercial if the plane they have doesn’t go coast to coast,” Pelosi said today.
If she flies commercial good for her. Too bad it isn’t because of any environmental convictions she may or may not have.
