Next time you are in Utah, we need to go to Moab then. The Porcupine Rim trail is a classic. I know you miss the desert....

Did not work for me on Windows 7 home premium but close. This is what did work. Downloaded Canon scan gear toolboxcsv223.exe, went to the execute file, right clicked on compatability and picked Vista sp2.

Same issue as "Anon" from Nov 10th. The initial directions and driver worked for a while on Win 7-32bit, but I get the same "iop.dll" error message now. That file exists on my system, and placing it in different places in the Windows directory didn't help. I suspect some update from Microsoft has finally killed the use of my N650u.

Once I get to:
6. Go to your device manager.
7. Click on Add a Device and select the scanner

My Scanner is plugged in but it keeps "searching for device"and never locates it.

Is there anything I can troubleshoot?

It worked for me for a long time on Windows 7 after following the instructions.

However recently it will not find my scanner, although the drivers are installed and the device appears in my Control Panel.

When trying to scan from Adobe Acrobat 9.0 the message says:
"The Program can't start because iop.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem.

Error while interacting with the scanner:
the selected scanner was not found."

I went to Scanners and Cameras and my device is indeed listed there. I even launched properties and did a "Test Scanner or Camera" with success. It reads on port \\.\Usbscan0

Any ideas why Adobe no longer sees my scanner or any other program for that matter?
