Kentucky FRIED Chicken (or KFC as they like to call themselves these days) has announced that they are going to use non-trans fat soybean oil from now on. I don’t understand. Fried chicken is supposed to be bad for you–that’s part of the allure. The problem is that when they take out the trans fats, they take out the taste. Just try McDonald’s worthless french fries and you’ll understand why trans fats are important to good tasting fatty foods.
