I found the video of this shootout to be strangley compelling. Until now I’ve thought that shooting video with a Digital SLR didn’t make much sense because of the limitations. But this video shows you how good some of the DSLRs are at video.

I just bought a DSLR last month. I looked at the entry level cameras and decided on the Sony A500. It doesn’t have video which was almost a deal breaker.
I really struggled over the decision and still wonder if I chose correctly. On one hand the Sony is a better DSLR than the comparably priced Canon and Nikon cameras I tried…on the other hand…video created with the optics of a DSLR is something I really wanted to play with.
My camera (a Nikon D70s) is too old and doesn’t have video capabilities. But I’m tempted to upgrade when Nikon comes out with their replacement for the D90.
