The United Nations Security Council has held its first ever debate on climate change. The British Foreign Secretary, Margaret Beckett, made a very interesting argument. According to the BBC, “Mrs Beckett said an unstable climate could lead to increased world conflict.”

What?!? Climate would be stable without humans? How silly are the Brits (or at least the government)? The climate is not a stable system. Check out this graph which shows temperature over the last 50,000 years. The only constant is change, not stability.
