Why are the Obamas and the Bidens so heartless?

The White House released the Obamas and the Bidens tax returns yesterday. The Obamas gave 6% of their income to charity and the Bidens gave a miserly 1.4%. They are they so heartless? Don’t they care about the helping the poor and other charitable works?  Their actions speak far louder than their words.

  1. “As the White House had announced in March, Mr. Obama donated his $1.4-million Nobel Peace Prize award to 10 charities.” That amount is NOT included in the above 6%. In any case 6% is more than average so according to you most Americans are heartless. Okay Mr. Judgemental, how much would a person with a heart be expected to give? What percent did you give?

It is indeed a heartless country we live in. One in which an unfortunate child who contracts diabetes can, when he grows up, be denied health insurance based on a preexisting condition. One in which 62% of personal bankrupcies are due to unexpected illness and medical expense. Oh wait, the heartless Mr. Obama and the democrats just fixed that.

  2. Good to hear from you again John. You highlighted the true purpose of this post. We are told by people such as Obama and especially Biden that we live in a heartless nation. But the very politicians that make these claims aren’t very generous when it comes to donating their own money to causes they believe in (on average givers given between 3 and 5% to charity). Instead of donating their own money, they prefer for the taxpayers to do it for them. That’s not charity. (Obama could not have kept the peace prize money, so it was never income. If it was never income, it isn’t charity to give it away).

Obama donated 1% more of is income to charity than most givers? Is this consistent with someone that demands that others make sacrifices?
